Grand Canyon

If you've never been to the Grand Canyon, it's worth the visit. In September Ryan and his friends Michael and Paul, did what everyone recommends you NOT do and hiked from rim to rim in one day. It's a 21-24 mile (depending on who you talk to) jaunt. Stephanie was the chauffeur of this operation , driving from one rim to the other to bring their weary bodies back to San Diego when all was done. Here is an account of the short adventure.
Here we are at the South rim
When we first arrived, the guys pulled out their maps, looked for the trail from the top of the rim, and considered what they had committed to.This is what they saw: the Bright Angel Canyon, which they would soon be traveling.
They began their descent on the Kaibab trail before sunriseAnd enjoyed the first few miles down

Before they saw the mighty Colorado River

Meanwhile, Steph began the 215 mile drive to meet the guys at the North rim.
As the day wore on, the temperatures had risen and the shade became less frequent. Michael enjoyed cooling off in the streams.

As they were trekking the last 9 miles up hill, Steph was setting in to their campsite and enjoying the view from Bright Angel Point.

By 4pm they had made it to their destination on the North rim.
