Beginnings & Ends

BBS has just celebrated a new END….our first years graduating class. Our fellow workers, Heidi & the Silvers have written well about graduation. In summary, it was a year full of learning for both students and staff and we are encouraged by student’s final remarks. They said it was a good year to slow down, hear God, gain direction, and learn to live with others.

We now move on to a new BEGINNING…our first summer between classes. There are some changes coming up in our dear friends and fellow laborers lives that we’d like to share with those of you who have supported this team over the last two years.

Kelly Hinz (secretary) will be getting married this spring and moving just north of San Diego. She met Dan Kidder (a friend of Ryan’s from his Caravan days) just over a year ago when our staff went to his place to share about BBS with his college group. They plan to receive training and work with Muslim peoples overseas.

Andrew Bjorklund (business manager) has headed back to Washington for a break until he joins a few male students on a “summer ministry team.” The concept is borrowed from Ecola (thanks Dave Duff!). They’ll serve as counselors for some California summer camps and share the vision of BBS with potential students. This fall Andrew plans to join the air force.

Kim Mast (cook) just arrived in Chile. She’s joined a short term missions team from her hometown that will be helping with clean up and construction for the next three weeks. Please pray for Kim as she serves there. She’ll spend the rest of the summer back home in PA working and resting up for another full year at BBS in the fall.

Heidi Ogg (dean of women) will be spending the summer working and resting up in the beautiful Northwest in preparation for another year at BBS in the fall.

Sorensens, Silvers, and Paul Baughn will be sticking around this summer. Paul is still working at Starbucks across the border and helping with our website. The focus of the summer will be communicating with potential students, local ministries, & churches. There is continual program development & campus improvements, as well as hosting visitors, work groups & summer staff. We also plan to get in some R&R!

Please continue to pray for us who serve with BBS and who will be moving on to other adventures. May Christ be the center of all we do and give us wisdom as we go about His work.

BBS has a special place in my heart and I really enjoy being able to follow along with what God is doing on campus.

Congrats on the completion of your first year. To God be all the glory.
