Fall Semester Summed Up

First semester has flown by and students have recently departed for Christmas break. So what were some highlights of the first 12 weeks? Here's what student Natalie had to say:

* Living and volunteering in another culture has been impactful--especially the friendships she's built with the kids she visits weekly at a battered women's shelter. They spend the day playing and she is teaching them English.

* She's appreciated that each week classes build on each other to solidify what she's learning. [Just a side note: each week brings a new speaker and a new subject so its encouraging to hear that even though speakers aren't specifically communicating with each other, common themes and important truths are being taught and building upon each other.]

* Natalie's also enjoyed the small class size and the opportunity to live alongside the speakers that spend their week with us on campus. Learning from them isn't limited to classroom time but is able to occur throughout the day.

We look forward to classes resuming January 3, 2011!!!
