Viernes y Sabado

Yesterday, instead of our regular studies with Jorge we took a taxi to a nature reserve to hike to the top of a peak. We enjoyed hiking through the jungle and chatting with our instructor. The terrain is a mix of northwest greenery and tropical forest. At 2450 m (over 8000 ft), our pulmones (lungs) felt the difference in altitude. My favorite sign, posted just before the last ascent, said: "Echlar Ganes: estas a punta llegar a la parte mas alta del sendero". This means, keep it up, you’re almost at the top. The pictures of the fruit stand and Jorge and Ryan in the colectivo were taken on our way back to town after the hike.
This morning we, along with another housemate, went to a yoga class. It was interesting because it is led by the girlfriend of Coco’s son. She is from California but taught in Espanol (which is nice because usually non-native speakers pronounciate clearly). We had fun and found out how inflexible Ryan is. After Yoga and some studying we had a great lunch of fish, crab, and octopus soup! It was very good. We will keep you all updated of our last half of the trip; keep watching for new adventures.
