A Change in Plans

At the end of August, Baja Bible School's board of directors met on campus and worked out the details of a recently made decision. We have decided to move the grand opening of classes back one year. The main reason is that we had 5 possible students but felt we needed a few more to financially commit to starting. We believe that shifting the focus this next year from building to student recruiting will help us have a strong start. We’ve had positive feedback regarding this decision and many of the speakers who were lined up to teach this year have rescheduled for the following year.

Another blessing is that the staff lined up for this Fall have committed to serving alongside us this year. In fact, most of them are already here and settled into their rooms. Our intent for this next year is to grow as a team living in community, get to know the city and culture, fine-tune student policies, continue to develop various facets of the program, student recruiting, study Spanish, and work toward meeting individual goals, including volunteering with local ministries in the city.

We look at this year ahead not as a setback but as a chance to continue to listen to God as He molds this school. There is still much preparation and we are convinced that we will have an amazing staff ready to serve our students as they come to Baja in 2009.

We are so grateful for your continued prayers and support. If you have any questions concerning the project or new changes, please feel free to email Ryan at ryan@bajabible.com.
