Staff Retreat

They've arrived. Our new BBS team. We are now a team of 9, with various responsibilities and duties. In preparation for working and living together, we spent a few days at one of our favorite spots in northern Baja California, Laguna Hansen.
Dan and Lyndsay recently returned from language study in Chiapas and brought back with them hormigas tostadas (roasted ants), which they shared with us on the 4 hour trip to the Lake.
These are Addie, Heidi, & Kelly's responses the the delicacy.
When we camped here earlier this summer, the lake was dry. That's changed somewhat and you can see the local cattle enjoy this spot.
Steph & Lyndsay doing some camp cooking.
We spent time going over BBS basics, job descriptions, and what our personal spiritual goals are for this year.
Here Andrew shows us the graceful form of a local fishing bird (the bird is barely visible in the background).
If you look closely, you'll notice a determined staff member roasting marshmallows despite the flames.

One afternoon, a group of us climbed around in the rocky hills surrounding us. Here Lyndsay is looking for the rest of the group.
One of the unique things about this part of N.Baja California are the interesting rock forms.
This one resembles a creature from the Sponge Bob cartoon & made Steph laugh every time she passed by it.
