Life continues on

Baja board members meeting on the front porch of our campus
This weekend we hosted a board meeting on campus. There has been some bad press and fear of visiting Mexico because of the swine flu but life continues on here, just as it did months ago. There have been very few cases of the flu in this city (6 cases according to the Flu Tracker website) but 155  across the border in San Diego County (according to the SD County website) . As a precaution many schools closed in Tijuana for a week but they are back in the swing of things again. People are shopping, families are going to the movies, students are taking taxis to get to university. Ryan took our board members to Starbucks for part of their meeting where they saw business men conducting business and college students doing a scavenger hunt. Their comments were, "this is just like normal city life."  The best way to understand this is to come visit in person.  But since that's not practical for everyone, our staff have been creating a series of videos to demonstrate some of the regular life activities that we participate in here. You can view these by clicking here for the You Tube link.
